Rhododendron DNA and tissue available for use Hi all
We are closing down Ben Hall's lab at the University of Washington at the end of 2020 and have a variety of DNA and tissue from various rhododendrons that will be tossed unless we can find a national bank or new home for them. Some are vouchered and we can send vouchered tissue to Missouri Botanic Garden's bank, but they do not accept DNA. If anyone is interested in DNA and/or tissue for exploratory studies or vouchered DNA or tissue for future use and storage, please get in touch with me before December 15, 2020 at vsoza@uw.edu. Thanks.
Valerie I think we could possibly archive those samples at Holden, at any rate it seems like they should be kept and I'm happy to help find a place if you haven't already
Thanks, Juliana. I will get in touch with you directly. We have worked with our herbarium (WTU) here at University of Washington to store our vouchered tissue and DNA there in the long-term, which will become accessible to the public at some point. However, we are going to toss the unvouchered materials unless you see a need for them.
